Welcome to Lucy Antwis! I’m Lucy, the maker behind everything you’ll find in my shop. With nearly 20 years of experience in handcrafting and selling, I’m passionate about creating beautiful felted items and offering premium wool for fellow makers. My small studio in York, England, is where all the magic happens, and I’m thrilled to share my creations with you.

My journey as a maker began in my teenage years in the charming town of Whitby. It all started with hair braiding for visitors, a simple skill that allowed me to engage with people and hone my creative abilities. This led me to selling jewelry made from threads at a local jewelry shop, and it wasn’t long before I realised how much I enjoyed making and sharing my creations with others.

After university, I received a grant from The Prince’s Trust, which played a pivotal role in kickstarting my self-employment journey nearly two decades ago. This opportunity gave me the confidence and support to turn my passion for making into a full-time career. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to creating high-quality handmade goods, from felted accessories to wool supplies for fellow makers.

Lucy Antwis is a brand proudly steeped in a ten-year ecological history. Working from my home studio in York, I am committed to sustainability by using recycled wool waste, environmentally sound packaging, and sourcing all my supplies locally to avoid airmiles. I believe in crafting with conscience, ensuring that my work is as kind to the planet as it is beautiful.

I work with pure sheeps wool and silks, which can be supplied by any weight, as well as real hand-picked and hand-pressed flowers—each carefully chosen to ensure the highest quality. Everything is made right here in beautiful North Yorkshire, surrounded by nature, which continues to inspire my work.

The stunning Yorkshire landscape and the beauty of nature are my biggest inspirations. The rolling hills, wildflowers, and changing seasons give me endless creative fuel. Every piece I create is influenced by the colors, textures, and moods of the natural world around me.

When I’m not working in the studio, I enjoy spending time with my 18-year-old cat, Chloe. She’s been my loyal companion for many years and is always by my side, providing a sense of calm and comfort while I work.

I have a First-Class Honours degree in Art and Design, and I’ve always been deeply connected to the world of craftsmanship and creativity. Feltmaking allows me to combine my love for art with a hands-on craft that’s as tactile as it is rewarding. Whether it’s a hand-felted scarf, a custom accessory, or a unique home decor piece, I take great care in every creation I make, ensuring that each item is special and full of character.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is personalizing my items to make them even more meaningful for my customers. Whether it's a specific color choice, a custom design, or a special request, I love bringing your ideas to life. Customer service is incredibly important to me—over the years, I’ve learned that building lasting relationships with my customers is just as important as creating beautiful products. I want every person who shops with me to feel heard, valued, and completely satisfied with their experience.
