Dreams of becoming an artist when I left school soon faded and life took over. I still painted on and off through the years and I've done a couple of evening classes, from stained glass to basket weaving and pottery, but oil painting became a personal favourite. I love the richness of colour and the debt and texture you can achieve.
Inspired by the beautiful flowers that my husband effortlessly grows in our garden I started doing close up paintings. With my paintings mounting up under my desk I have decided to take the plunge and take them out of the house for all to see. I have had prints and gifts printed with my original artwork and I am constantly adding to my collection. Commissions have followed and I have really enjoyed being inspired by other peoples choices and not just sticking to the flowers that I like.
I work from my messy desk in my home in the Scottish Borders with my gorgeous dog Maisie sleeping at my feet, when she's not up to mischief.
Recently I have upcycled a number of tired and lifeless canvas's and given them a new lease of life and plan to do more of these in the future. So if you have an old canvas that you have grown tired of let me bring it back to life.
