Hi welcome to The Nutty Squirrel we are a small home based business located in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside in England.
The Nutty Squirrel came to life as a small dream back in 2014. When I was on maternity leave with my son in 2013 I was made redundant from my job of 12 years and decided to take some extra time to be at home with my newborn son. Loving being a Mum I spent lots of hours creating items for him. Having always been a creative person I decided to use some of my redundancy money to buy an embroidery machine...with a bit of research I fell in love with the idea of the Brother PR1000e machine and whilst it was a little daunting to begin with I quickly learned how to use it and that was it I had the embroidery bug, anything and everything was embroidered in our house from then on. The idea was to use it as a hobby and for me to return to work but life has a great way of throwing a spanner in the works and my son was diagnosed with a severe bleeding condition leading him to needing additional care to that of the average child so I needed and continue to be available for him 24/7 and a regular employed job would not allow the flexibility required so after coming to terms with what life had thrown at our family and with my confidence growing from receiving lots of positive feedback for the unique things I had made for friends and family I decided it was time to take the plunge and turn my passion into my work to allow my time to be in my control. With the help of my very talented Mum we've created a steady customer base and are continuously adding to our portfolio of items.
