I’m a pyrography and mixed-media artist living aboard Avona, a wooden trawler moored in Bristol Harbour, where my little studio drifts between tides, woodgrain, folklore, and imagination.
I create one-off handmade pieces using traditional pyrography, drawing, paint, collage, and laser engraving — sometimes delicate, sometimes weathered, always made slowly by hand.
I’ve been making art since childhood and discovered pyrography over ten years ago. Since then, I’ve created thousands of pieces for people around the world, but these days I’m embracing a slower, more personal approach to making.
The Burnt Tree is now home to small collections of original objects, harbour-inspired curiosities, folklore fragments, and handcrafted treasures created aboard Avona when inspiration arrives.
My days are spent designing, burning, engraving, experimenting, and being supervised by my rescue dog, cockatiel, and a tiny squad of frogs while harbour birds inspect proceedings from nearby rooftops.
Nothing here is mass produced, and most pieces are never repeated.
