Since 2011 I've been self employed in the environmental education and conservation sector which means I get to go pond dipping etc with groups of school children. In 2015 I decided I needed something to sell when I'm at local events when promoting my business, so in the autumn of that year I took a 1/2 day a week silversmith course at a local adult education centre. I chose silversmithing as I have previously volunteered at a steam railway where I helped to repair and restore steam engines, so I had some metalwork experience. I then decided that I should sell online as well as at events, I now split my time between environmental education and jewellery making.
My early work was all inspired by wildlife but since then I've also taken inspiration from Wales (including the symbols found on welsh lovespoons) and more recent cycling (which is another hobby of mine). My designs are continuously evolving as my skills improve and I hope to add more designs to my shop over the coming months.
