About Stamped Cat Block Printing

Stamped Cat Block Printing

Original Handmade Lino prints inspired by the Scottish Highlands and the seascapes of Normandy

My name is Chloé and I’m a printmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I print Highland landscapes, as well as Normandy cityscapes. I also like to create my own characters from time to time.

I grew up on the coast of Normandy in France and moved to Edinburgh just over 5 years ago. I find inspiration in my childhood memories and in generally everything around me. It can be a scene from a movie or someone using a cool texture. When I’m not carving or block printing, I’m usually thinking about the next print or a new technique to use.

I start by sketching each design on paper, then take it to Illustrator to clean it up and vectorise it. After that, I can carve each lino block, ink the block and print it by hand, using a wooden barren.

Sustainability is very important to me, so I make sure to use recyclable packaging. All the cardboard backing and envelopes I use are also recycled. And did I mention that everything is made in the UK by a family run business?
