Making everlasting flowers to bring cheer and joy to any space.

Hi, I’m Alison a designer maker based in the pretty village of Lymm in Cheshire.

I’ve always loved making from being a small child, anything from papier mâché to jewellery and of course crochet. I was taught to crochet by my Nan at a very young age, maybe 6 or 7 years old.

Sakarma began when I was at home with my two small children, hand sewing cushions. This progressed to buying a sewing machine and making fabric storage from beautiful remnant pieces of patterned fabrics. I love pattern and texture, and crochet vases were added to my range.

Following my love of nature and graphic lines, I then began creating a range of everlasting wire stems with crocheted flower heads. These flowers quickly became my favourite makes and took over from sewing. I love the seemingly infinite range and combinations I can create with the flowers and foliage, and the cheer and joy they bring to any interior space.

I’m now the owner of a pillar drill and band saw, equipment I’ve learnt to use to make the wood blocks and vases for my flowers. Framed flowers complete the current range, but I can’t wait to see where my wire and crochet flower journey takes me next.
