Creating unusual textile jewellery and craft inspired by meadows, flowers, gardens, insects, birds and animals.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION. I have a vast collection of fabrics, lace, buttons, threads, charms and beads that I have been seduced into buying over the years. I use them in my original “Buttonfleur” designs. I enjoy making small items, particularly brooches. My style is a kind of boho rustic mix.
I use Eco-friendly materials such as 100%wool/heathered felt coloured with safe non-toxic dyes, china/glass/shell /resin/wood buttons and beads and cotton ( mainly beautiful Liberty of London prints).
Unless otherwise stated, my items also feature bronze/silver metal charms/beads, vintage/crochet lace and a hand embroidered rose and/or button meadow flowers.
The felt backing on the brooches and key rings is attached with tiny blanket or coiled running stitch and the brooch pin partially hidden with a felt patch.
The brooches and keyrings have an inner stiffening to help them keep their shape.
Charms are securely fixed with non toxic adhesive and then sewn on with invisible thread.
The wood/bamboo embroidery hoops and metal bezels are hung up with a loop of Liberty fabric cord and may include a worded label printed on fabric.
I also make Liberty fabric cabochons to use in pendants, earrings and other items.
