Printmaker of stories, places, people and silly things

I am a Northern Irish printmaker and illustrator living and working in Edinburgh.

The overarching theme of my work is storytelling, often through the subjects of nature, places, people, and traditional myths or fables. My figures and places are all imagined, and I like to encourage the viewer to imagine the narrative around them. Nature is a passion of mine, so there are recurring motifs of shells, seaweed and corals, mountains and birds. I love all animals! I don't currently have one (or ten) in Edinburgh but hope to soon :)

I am self-taught, having studied History of Art at Edinburgh University. I work in lino cut primarily, with some screenprinting, and also risograph as a means of making more affordable editions of original lino cuts. I had always painted and drawn, but when I rediscovered printmaking I fell in love with the processes, the techniques and the sculptural nature of relief printing.
