“Traditional tatting transformed into intricate, contemporary jewellery, handmade by me

I discovered tatting almost by accident and fell in love with the way a simple thread can become something so intricate. Every piece in RSLaceStudio is made by me, knot by knot, using traditional tatting techniques.
I enjoy giving this old lace-making craft a more contemporary feel, experimenting with colour and combining fine threads with Miyuki beads, pearls, glass beads and, in some designs, natural gemstones.
Because each piece is made by hand, no two are ever completely identical. I make everything in small quantities rather than mass producing designs, and I particularly enjoy creating jewellery that looks detailed and delicate while remaining wonderfully lightweight to wear.
And yes, I do have cats — although their contribution to the making process is strictly supervisory.
