About Pixie-Pie Illustration

Pixie-Pie Illustration

Witchy illustrator, crazy cat lady and lover of all thing pastel pink.

Hi, I’m Pixie,

I live in Merseyside with my partner and our cat Nebula, make art and accept commissions.
I grew up on the edge of the North York Moors with my parents and younger brother. Living in the middle of nowhere and having an artist for a Mum meant I spent almost all my free time drawing, painting or crafting. If I wasn’t playing in the garden (which happened a lot considering it’s the UK and the weather is pretty ‘meh’ for about 2 thirds of the year) I was at my desk with a pen, pencil or paint brush in hand.

My Mum is a huge influence on my work and my development as an artist. As a four time RHS gold medal winning botanical illustrator, she was always teaching me techniques and helping with projects. I continued to be proficient at art throughout my school years and studied it for my GCSEs and A-Levels. Interestingly I didn’t get particularly high grades as I always hated “ticking boxes” in order to achieve good marks. Instead I tended to do my own thing and ignore the teachers, much to their annoyance (sorry teachers).

It wasn’t until I attended university to study Psychology that I really started exploring my own art style. Now that I didn’t have to answer to teachers or write essays on every single idea I came up with, I was free to create whatever took my fancy. For the next 4 years or so I tried a variety of styles and mediums but often found myself painting small but detailed portraits or inking mandalas and tattoo designs whilst accepting the odd commision.

About a year after meeting my current partner, he surprised me with an iPad as a birthday gift (I say gift but really I would like to pay him back one day as it was such an amazing thing to do for me and has expanded my career as an illustrator). This allowed me to start exploring digital art and create designs that I could far more easily translate into prints.

Two years of learning, practising and designing later I finally launched this shop and I am beyond excited to finally be here. This is a dream I’ve had for a long time and the support I have been given is something I am ever grateful for.

I work in a variety of styles (which you can see more of on my Instagram account linked below) and accept commissions. If you would like to discuss a custom design please feel free to get in touch either through the contact button on my profile, or via my email pixiepieart@gmail.com.

I hope you enjoy having a browse of my shop, I try to upload new work at least once a month.

Love and magick
