I am a print and textile artist. In love with carving linocuts. Block printing and hand dyeing fabric using natural dyes.

I fell in love with carving lino and rubber blocks just under 2 years ago. Before then it had never occurred to me that it was possible for me to carve well. And looking to nature has inspired my work. I love carving animals, leaves and flowers. Through carving and studying nature have I begun to really appreciate the beauty in this world. We take so much for granted and to think that some of these animals will be extinct in a generation or two.

Carving lino and rubber blocks is my form of relaxation. I find it immensely satisfying spending hours, days or weeks carving a piece of lino, to end up with a one of kind piece of art or block print that has come from own bare hands toiling away.

As mentioned earlier I also dabble in natural fabric dyeing. I love combining lino printing and fabric dyeing to create a piece of work, making it even more special and unique. My favourite natural dye to use is avocado seed/skins - it achieves the most breath-taking hue of pink.

My work hideaway is in the attic, a lovely space that has been conducive to my creativity. If it hadn't been for this room I don't think I would have ever got anything done or achieved anything.
