Hi everyone I am Jim Drennan and I would like to introduce myself and to give you an insight to what.I do have a full time job as a lorry driver which I have been for 40 years.I started off with a laser cutter and engraver just out of curiousity and to see what I could do with it.I soon found out that it is a very wide learning curve with so many things to consider when trying to create something but I also found it a challenge which I did end up enjoying.As I started to get the hang of the machine and becoming more confident in what I was doing I started my Facebook Page which is now called North Of The The Tyne Laser.Not long after putting my page up a lady conatcetd me asking if I could do something for her daughter who had just recently had to have her two pet rabbits put to sleep.After a lot of messages,email,etc I finally produced what she was looking for.When she received the item she was over the moon and her daughter was absolutely overwhelmed with it.From that day I still take my inspiration from that lady and everything I do and make is always with care,passion and attention to detail as well as communication with the customer.I now make and sell laser cut and engraved items for any occasion or anyone special.I do make made to order as well as items for general sale.I mainly use wood or perspex for this.I also do engraving onto glass,slate or clear perpsex.I would like to be able to do this full time instead of beig classed as a hobbyist.Hopefully one day I will have the recognition etc to do it.
