I work from home in Cheshire where I live with my husband, 2 sons and our crazy rescue dog, Dooby. Originally from Aberdeen, I moved to Cheshire in 1983 when I married.
After many years in the NHS, I took the opportunity to leave and decided to develop my love of making jewellery.
The high end crystals and pearls I currently use, just sparkle and shine with a quality that I've not found elsewhere in the manufactured world, hence they are the basis for the majority of my work.
Beading is so versatile, the possibilities are endless! I love exploring what can be done with a few beads and thread to create something unique and beautiful. Occasionally I'll include freshwater pearls, haematite or semi precious stones just to add a little something extra.
Where do I get my inspiration from? Anywhere and everywhere! Sometimes I'll see something when I'm out and about that sparks a design in my head, at other times I'll look at a bead or a crystal and just start to add other beads to it until I have a necklace or bracelet. And it has been known that a design I've been working on has been accidentally rearranged and lo and behold a new design has been born!
The French beaded flowers are a new passion, borne out of boredom during lockdown in 2021. I had made quite a lot of jewellery by then and needed a new challenge. French beaded flowers is a craft I had dabbled in many years ago but didn't have the time to explore in detail. The majority of my flowers are miniature or three quarter to half size for ease of transport to and from craft events.
