Hello! I'm Maya, and I am the owner and seamstress behind Maya Howes Costumier! I create historical clothing for re-enactment, living history and theatre. I specialise in corsetry, menswear and working-class garments. Here on my Folksy shop, I create historical accessories, jewellery and off the peg clothing. I'm self taught, though in 2022 I did a short course in theatre costume making, which introduced me to men's tailoring, something I now adore.

I have a little studio in my tiny village, on the side of a valley overlooking an ancient woodland. I'm surrounded by wildlife, which sometimes pay me a visit when I keep the doors open. Pop onto my Instagram for pictures!
