Stylish, handcrafted, lampshades and soft furnishing in the vintage and retro style

On retirement, after working for many years in social services I decided to take the opportunity to satisfy my lifelong creative ambitions, I finally took the plunge and established Modern Retro by Maggie in 2019.

My love has always been in using established and rediscovered materials to provide lampshades, lamps and home accessories recalling and reminiscent of that wonderful post war period up the 1970's. The era of cool, funky good times.

Wherever possible my materials are thoughtfully and sustainably sourced and procured from both original and in period reproduced stock. I believe that my designs are both striking and original that depict that era.

Equally I would love to design pieces with the individual in mind which will enhance and compliment any period décor. I encourage customers to contact me with individual requirements.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
