About Mezuri Adornments and Jewellery

Mezuri Adornments and Jewellery

I'm an artist & jewellery maker who is inspired by ancient, tribal and bohemian styles. I love any adornments be they ancient or modern. Everything in my shop is handmade and is a collection of all the things I've learnt and love.

I confess, I'm obsessed with all kinds of beads and have been collecting them for many years. I really love bohemian and tribal styles and use a lot of vintage and natural beads in my jewellery. I have been lucky enough to work in the Film and Theatre Industry since my early twenties, which I very much enjoy as well as designing and making jewellery. It's enabled me to learn so many skills from jewellery and sculpting to leatherwork and it is very rewarding to see your work on the big screen or stage. I have learnt all of my 'making skills' from this industry and have been able to work with many talented crafts people as well as teaching myself.
I've been collecting vintage glass beads over the last few years, I just love them. Some date back to the early 1900's and it is very difficult to find certain kinds and colours. It just amazes me that they are so old, and whether they have simply been stored or worn it just fascinates me that they have been so treasured and looked after for so long. I also enjoy reading the historical stories related to them and reading about the craftspeople that created them. Many of the beads I buy are from 'one off' vintage strands, so some pieces are very limited simply because you cannot buy them again.
I also collect gemstones and crystals and spend time reading all about them, ranging from their origins and geology to their ancient uses for protection, healing, magic and of course their beauty.

If you have any questions about any of my pieces please feel free to ask.
