Luxury Classic Hand Knits from Scotland

I have a passion for knitting, collecting vintage knitting patterns and luxury yarns, I always have and regardless of the amount I already have, I am always searching for more.

I'm left handed and learnt to knit when I was four years old by sitting opposite my grandmother and copying her in my own way. I am lucky I inherited from my paternal grandmother the ability to see something and make it turning my hand to both sewing and knitting.

I am very pedantic when sewing garments, stiches have to match giving a professional finish and I spend time to match buttons to the garment to complement it - all this takes time but the finished garment attests to my efforts.

I prefer to knit for babies and toddlers but have dabbled in designing knitting patterns for cushion covers. In my effort to write these patterns I knitted each pattern several times so will list some of these in the future.

I knit very quickly, getting around to sewing up can take forever :)

I'm retired; I was lucky enough to be in the position to retire when my son was 3 years old; he had a Norland's nanny but I ended up getting very jealous of the things they were doing when I was at work so I stopped working.

I ran a team of 140 around the world and spent time traveling; more than I was told the position would involve .. Taking care of one 3 year old was much harder than managing a team of 140. We both survived our time together and I certainly don't regret stopping work to be there for him.
