Hello, my name is Lee and I have always been "crafty". Fabric excites me, especially vintage, is that weird?

I discovered my "Rip and Burn" technique many years ago when I was a member of the Embroidery GuildThe technique
involves layering different types of fabrics, stitching them together either by hand or on a machine and then using a soldering iron to burn through the different layers to expose the fabrics underneath. I then sometimes embellish the pieces.

I lived in Spain for a number of years and was inspired by the landscape and beaches. Nature is still a major influence in my work.

I also make "Threads of Memories" pictures and bowls. These are made from fabrics from deceased loved ones items of clothing such as dresses, scarves and gentlemen's shirts and ties. These items are more than just visual pieces they hold memories, emotions and a deep connection to the past. These memory pieces are lovingly hand crafted with delicate embellishments that transform sentimental keepsakes into tangible keepsakes. These are truly one of a kind creation.

I work from my little studio at the end of my garden which is convenient for me to pop into my kitchen to make copious cups of tea.
