Potential Customers are advised to choose their own yarn for Custom Knitted Orders, to avoid wrong colour choices. I offer a free consultation prior to orders being placed. Please pay in full with PayPal, as due to bad experiences of some past customers, placing orders then not paying me for my work, so no time wasters please. Please place any orders within my shop and not personally. Thank you.
I get my inspiration for knitwear designs from my own ideas, magazines which I often substitute yarns for more natural luxury yarns, yarn colours to suit customer complections and hair colour. I always knit with natural luxury yarns often wool blends for garments and accessories, so much nicer to knit with, handknit socks a speciality, I taught myself to knit socks, all the knitting techniques like Fair Isle, aran cables, Entrelac and lacework.
Some of my jewellery designs are my own ideas based on Costume Jewellery classwork at College. I also make small to medium embroidered items, cross stitch, Bargello glasses cases and mobile covers, embroidered cards, some Hardanger and Blackwork. After studying Embroidery Level 2 for 2 years, Creative Cards course for 7 years gaining A Level equivelent Certificate, my Teacher told me I was qualified to teach Papercrafts and other crafts we studied about. So I got a work placement in a Day Centre for Disabled adults as a Crafts Teacher, but it was only temporary, but valuable experience. I design and make my own greeting cards, sometimes I make up card craft kits, baby papercraft gifts and special occassions cards. Only this year in June I got an order for 3 special 30th birthday cards. One was part parchment craft etc, 2 unusual cards cards which can be viewed on my FB shop page. I studied Parchment Craft at a course in Harrogate over several months, these cards are very intricate, time consuming but very beautiful greeting cards suitable for weddings, birthdays, Christmas etc, which involves perforating, colouring or painting, embossing.
I st my small business 10 years ago in November, since then my business has grown with aid of FaceBook and word of mouth. I do mostly Freelance and custom orders, all my customers have been very satisfied with my work often returning to purchase other items. Feedback is amazing and so are the comments, which makes me very happy to know my customers are satisfied.
I moved to a sheltered housing flat I found lots of creative residents here with loads of talent, so I am planning on starting a Craft club here where I can teach people to make crafts that I know about and develop their hidden talents.
I mostly work at home in my flat in Lounge, or in my Craft room, where I keep my yarn stash and crafting shop stock.
I have one cat, Judy, who is a mischievous, playful minx, who loves galloping in the flat from one room to another, she loves to play with her toys, a cloth mouse, a small tiger toy, a little lamb toy and her new toy a bit of ribbon with a burst balloon bit. She is very active and clever loves to go out of the window ledge, of first floor flat, on sunny days sunbathing. In Summer I take Judy out for a stroll in the big gardens, she loves hiding in the bushes and sniffing. She does not run off I'm so proud of my little girl, Judy, she is ever so affectionate, loves to jump on my legs for a belly rub n a scratch on her ears. We have a morning cuddle in my arms raising her head a bit for kisses, sweet or what?
I hope you will like my next pair of socks in progress, they seem to be a very popular item.
