I am one very lucky wife, mum and grandma to a wonderful family.
My artistic journey started when I was small, I was an only child and spent quite a bit of time alone (as there weren't any other children who lived near by for me to play with) so would spend many hours drawing and colouring, for myself and for all my dolls and teddy bears, that were pupils in my class!
Art was my favourite subject at school but I also enjoyed other crafts like knitting and crochet.
Once my children were older I decided to go to a demonstration for Carbothello pastel pencils and that was it! .... I had to give them a try and I have never looked back as pastel portraits have been one of my main interests for well over 20 years.
During that time I have also sculpted tiny fairy figurines, needle felted, made reborn baby dolls, jewellery etc which have all gone to new homes around the world and I have also enjoyed sewing many different items from handbags to dressmaking to tent covers with plastic window and personalised doors for my grandsons cabin beds.
Alongside my crafts I have always loved animals, a lot of my inspiration for my artwork has come from seeing wildlife, especially big cats ... we have also had many pets over the past 40 years ... Angora Rabbits, Pigeons, Reptiles, I loved riding horses when I was young and we have always had a family dog ... in fact, more often than not, a number of dogs and not forgetting our cats. We were lucky enough to live with 4 beautiful Afghan Hounds that I would take out to shows, my brindle boy 'Dexter' got first place in his class at Crufts dog show, which was one of my highlight's ... we now only have two young dogs ... an 11 month old Borzoi (Russian Wolfhound) 'Luka' and a little 5 month old Collie/Miniature Poodle 'Milana' Millie for short, who are BFF's and keep us very busy at times ... but we all love them to bits!
We are also very lucky to be able to spend time with our grandsons, who keep us feeling young ... and sometimes wear us out! lol
I very much enjoy a variety in my crafting nowadays so thought that Folksy would be the ideal place for me to open a little on-line shop ...I hope you will enjoy browsing through my items as I can guarantee that anything you might purchase will be finished to the best of my ability as I love what I do and I hope that it shows in my work.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me and my work .... I hope you will check back regularly to view any new items that I might have listed in my store.
