The start of Jo's leather crafts -
The main reason I got into leather craft was because of a newly founded passion for Steampunk, and one of the main aspects of Steampunk is to make stuff! I'm no good at sewing so what could I do? I started looking at all the things needed for leather craft and soon decided I would have to try it out first, seeing as the tools needed would be quite an investment! Turns out I got to try it out sooner than expected after a chat with my friend while I had my pony in Livery. He showed me the basics and what tools I really needed. So off I dragged my parents to Northampton where we had a look round Tandy Leather Factory. And I bought what was needed as well as a beginner’s kit for leather carving. I decided my first project was to make some belts, five in total with different patterns. They turned out rather good attempts but I was soon moved out of the house into our studio as all the banging of stamps sounded rather like an annoyed woodpecker! I had also managed to break a piece of marble in half… I worked hard on becoming good at carving, I taught myself from YouTube videos and books. And no more broken marble! Though there might be a lot of leather offcuts and rivet ends on the floor! So I am now a self taught proud owner of Jo's leather Crafts.

Buying from me

All of my leather items are cut, carved, stamped, stained and gloss finished by me. I am self taught. It all started when I got into steampunk and mentioned to friend I’d like to try my hand at leather work, so they showed me the basics, and here I am now.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
