Presently I live and work in Glastonbury, Somerset. Home of myths and legends in the Vale of Avalon. I am surrounded by wonderful countryside and a fertile artists community. I work from my converted garage studio at the bottom of my garden.
I began my adventures with textiles at Walthamstow Art School on the 1970's where I studied Textile and Fashion. I have spent a large part of my working life designing and producing my own range of beautiful knitwear all handmade in the UK.
About 15 years ago I discovered cloth art dolls and gradually changed my focus from knitwear to cloth dolls. The thing I love most about cloth dolls is that each one is an individual - no two can ever be the same. They are a vehicle for all the decorative techniques I have acquired over the years - Fabric dyeing, printing, embroidery, beading, distressing and felting.
All these cn be used in various ways on my dolls. I hope you will enjoy looking at them and maybe closing one for yourself or a family member, friend.
