Hello I am Tors Duce a textile artist designing & making my range of In Stitches handmade cards and unique gifts.

I combine my passion for hand stitch, machine embroidery, knitting and crochet to create unique and thoughtful cards and gifts that you can give to friends and family or to treat yourself. I want my work to have its own individual style and high level of craftsmanship so it will be treasured.

I make everything myself at my home studio in Burnham-on-Crouch by a beautiful river east of London.

I love working in my studio surrounded by all my fabrics, yarns and threads, with all the different colours and textures. Nothing gets thrown away, even the smallest pieces have a use. It is rewarding creating items that give new life to fabrics and textiles, being eco conscious in my work and its packaging.
I enjoy both hand stitch and and free machine embroidery, especially using my sewing machine to effectively ‘draw’ with the needle.

I have always loved sewing and knitting. I was lucky to learn these skills from both of my grandmothers. It was after I had to give up my career in London because I had ME that they became an important part of my recovery. I was able to continue developing my skills and now enjoy having my own business from my home studio.

I get a lot of inspiration from my beautiful natural surroundings with the marshy sea wall and coast. I also like mixed media work inspired by London especially the A to Z and tube maps.
