The Icon Workshop started life over 20 years ago as Icon & Co., as a partnership between Jason Stott & Mark Abraham. Everything went through their hands in the early days &, with clients mainly in film & TV, they would just as likely be sculpting in clay as constructing in timber.
Nowadays there are a few more of us; a handful of carpenters as well as a couple of designers to help move things along, but the hands-on approach & an eye for the stylish enables us to continue producing unique, well-made & low production-run pieces of furniture & giftware. We mainly work in timber now, with a particular fondness for birch plywood & the very distinct properties this sheet material has to offer, as you will see from the items we have for sale here.
The Icon Workshop is based on the same site on which it was started all those years ago, in Caerleon, south Wales; a village not far from the city of Newport but from where we are never too far from a hillside, a stream or field of cattle, & the site where all our products are still dreamt up & made into reality!
