After working in sales for over 18 years, I discovered an old disc sander in the shed from my Grandfather, Harold. After many hours of fixing and testing I found my passion for woodwork.
My goal was to then make sure I sourced everything from the UK with a focus on local businesses; which would bring down our carbon footprint and benefit the local business community.
Each shelf is initially sanded, checked and sanded fine again on the very belt sander my Grandfather owned. We then wax by hand, rest, wax the reverse, rest and repeat this for two coats. In between coats we give another soft sand by hand to remove any roughness from the wood. We only use Osmo wax for all of our shelves given the quality and vibrancy of the wax.
It is worth noting, each piece is as unique as the wood itself. The wax & stain colours can take differently depending on the density. Some wood has knots and the edges are all sanded by hand, giving a rustic look. This means, no two pieces are ever the same and you have something truly unique.
