Hello I'm Sally, I am a glass artist making fused glass hanging decorations, fused glass bowls, stained glass panels and lampshades using a mixture of mosaic, stained glass and kiln formed glass techniques.
It all started around 20 years ago when I began to use scrap pieces of glass in my mosaic projects. I have always been (and still am) mesmerized by the way sunlight can broadcast the colours of stained glass into the room. Just using glass for mosaic projects was not enough, I wanted to make pieces that could be held up to the light so I learnt the traditional stained glass processes using lead came and copper foil (the Tiffany technique) to make stained glass panels and suncatchers which make the most of this beautiful material. A few years ago I invested in a glass kiln so I could explore working with glass further and create unique pieces of fused glass art for the home.
I particularly love making my fused glass hanging decorations which add a pop of colour and vibrancy to any window even on a dull day.
