Eat, sleep, Paint, walk, grow stuff. That's it really, simple life.

Painting has always been part of my life, as a part-time gig, alongside work. Until 2019 I taught workshops, exhibited as a pastel artist and in 2012 was a finalist in the Britain's Got Artist competition. But then, doing a super-stressful job for 35 years and like many people, working flat out just to pay the bills and mortgage took its toll and my wife and I made a 'big decision.' We decided to sell up, take a bit of time to travel and visit family in Europe, then resettle in Scotland, our families' home for a simpler way of life. What could possibly go wrong?

In December 2019 with all our household stuff in storage and a new pack of watercolours we set off around Europe. No one had heard of Covid...then it hit and left us unintentionally homeless and reliant on friends for almost a year.

But, having no permanent space, only a couple of brushes and a set of portable paints made me really explore the medium. I'm hooked on watercolours now. I love their unpredictable nature, the expressive marks I can make and the range of colours.

The landscape of Kintyre is hauntingly beautiful and surrounded by water. We are the island that's not an island - a long drive from anywhere and peaceful. I find myself finally a full-time artist trying to express how I feel about the places I explore. I hope you enjoy exploring with me.
