I've made clothes, dolls, decorations, etc for years, for myself and my family. Always I've wanted to wear different clothes, to be different. Nine years ago I was diagnosed with three non-cancerous meningioma brain tumours; neuro-surgery over two years, and the necessary convalescence made me retire early from teaching. I'd also been helping to run a charity in Tanzania, and had made bags and aprons to sell to raise funds. With time on my hands, and a big cut to income, I looked for other ways to keep myself busy and creative. Gradually I have developed products I am proud of, and I want to sell them, to give other people pleasure. I look for interesting fabrics, and combine them in ways I find pleasing. I try not to waste anything, so use leftovers to make cards. Current restrictions mean that I can't stand behind a table and sell, so, here I am, at 72, setting off on a new venture, selling online. I'm hoping to add other items - hangings and decorations - to my line.
