Hi! I’m Jill and I own Faye’s Fair - my online store selling unique gifts, lovingly made just for you and your loved ones.

I am a mother to 4 children, washer of 3 cars, feeder of 2 dogs and wife to one wonderful husband - no partridge in a pear tree yet!! I live on the very edge of a small village in Co Down where I have my lovely little green shed. Inside all matter of wonderful things are created from wedding invitations for my daughters wedding, to drift wood lamp stands for our holiday caravan to fabric creations for every time of the year. It is these fabric creations that I have for sale in my Folksy shop - Faye's Fair. I got the name for my shop from my last dog whom I rescued one cold miserable and very wet morning. I found her and what I think was one of her offspring huddling in the hedge at the end of our lane. At the time we lived near our local Animal Rescue Centre and I think someone must have wanted to hand them in but instead just dumped them off into the nearest field as I had seen them running around the field several days before. I tempted both dogs up our lane with pieces of bread and put them into a dry, warm stable with fresh straw and left them some more bread dipped in warm milk. I contacted the dog warden to see if they were chipped or if anyone had reported them missing and when nothing turned up, my children and I adopted them and named them Lilly and Faye - hence the shop name! That was almost 15 years ago and both dogs have since gone to the great pet house in the sky. I now have Holly who is a beautiful 5 year old golden cocker spaniel who is my constant companion, sitting on my feet as I sit each day sewing to my hearts content. I find my work therapeutic as 4 years ago I suddenly became ill with serious mobility issues. I also lost a lot of power in both my hands though thankfully after a minor operation I have regained a good part of the power and I am now back happily sewing again. My inspiration for my work comes from everywhere and anywhere. Sometimes it's a flower in my garden, sometimes a show on television and yet it can also be just the piece of cloth that I happen to lift out of my stash that lends itself to a certain type of stitching. You will notice that some of my pieces have an inspirational verse on them and these come from my daily walk with my Lord who never fails me and has brought me through the last few years when I lost most of who I was through illness but by whose Grace I am now 'back in the saddle' and enjoying every day no matter what it brings. I was a beauty therapist and have had to give my work up due to my illness but I'm still creating beauty just in a different way. I never do more than one of the same thing - though I may do several on a theme or in different colour schemes. So if you purchase one of my pieces you can be assured that it is unique.
