Handmade For you in Dorset

Emali Creations is run by Emily and Ali (daughter and mum).
Our tiny business evolved out of a shared love for creativity and the need for Ali to find avenues to use both the brain and the hands for Neuro-Physiotherapy.
Ali has Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) which is a brain network disorder that disrupts the way in which the brain and body communicate in order to function. This can result in a myriad of different debilitating symptoms.
One of Ali’s symptoms is painful hand spasms that, for a time, were fixed in a clenched position for two years! This required the use of splints, physio, OT and neuro-physio and they are still very problematic.
Ali loves music and was a musician and music teacher before she developed FND. She is now unable to play instruments and even read music due to her disabilities.
Being creative and making craft is a great substitute for making music. It will never replace music but it is a creative outlet and something that she loves to do with Emily. Mum and daughter time is special.
It enables Ali to be productive, see a positive outcome and exercise the brain and hands all at the same time!

We are based in Dorset so a lot of our work is inspired by the coast and the natural environment that surrounds us.
