An artist who is most at home in peaceful, wild, lonely places and that filters through into the art in various ways. Inspiration comes from music, from nature, from the Scottish Highlands and Islands, from dreams and from issues I care about. Energy is drawn from the great outdoors as well as music and some of that positive energy inevitably has an art effect. My paintings are my way of putting a wee bit of light and peace out there into the darkness!
Mostly I work with watercolours and sometimes mixed media but always in my own individualistic style experimenting with textural effects and playing with colour to create atmosphere. I paint to the music that inspires me so there will always be that wee bit of extra soul and energy in the artwork. Sometimes expressive takes loosely based on places I've lived, loved or passed through. It' can be about reflecting a mood, an atmosphere or moment . Usually expressive but sometimes abstract , semi abstract or semi surreal. Always imaginative and different.
Quirky trees often feature in my art as do standing stones, dolphins and planet earth.
All paintings are unique originals as I don't do prints or copies.
