The Earth Hut began during lockdown in 2020, when traffic came to a standstill, the planet took a deep breath; home-working became the norm, and time-hungry commuting was no more.

With all social activity suspended, my partner and I used the extra time to create beautiful things for the pure pleasure of doing so. With covid restrictions, materials had to be sourced pretty close to home; so we painted over old canvases, stripped the leather off an unwanted sofa, collected jars, deconstructed jewellery, and tried to extend the life of things no longer wanted or used.

We are both artists and artisans, and between us can work with a wide variety of materials to a high standard. We work leather, wood, metals, textiles, clay, glass, plaster, yarn, shell, resin, soap, wax, almost anything we lay our hands on.

Now we're moving towards off-grid living, renewable energy, growing food, rescuing animals and generally being happy doing the things we love.

Every product we create is unique. Occasionally we may make a limited series of similar items owing to material availability, but as each is carefully and lovingly hand crafted, no two pieces will ever be quite the same.
