I just can't stick to the one idea...

Well hello there people of the internet. Folksy informs me you want to know about me so... I'm well into my 40's single Mum to 2 great kids and 1 crazy dog, and ours is very much a home influenced by ADHD, which means I am constantly inspired with ideas and not always able to get any done... but I continue to enjoy the journey.

As a child I was put off art by an art teacher who sadly did not encourage (putting it mildly) and I channelled my creativity into practical things rather than pretty things, and spent many years in an engineering job, ignoring the childhood desires to write stories, mix colours and paint, draw and the general desire to make things out of other things.

Several years ago, life brought me a difficult period of time, both home and work were difficult, my mental health an all time low and it brought me to a place of extreme need for change and self care. I began making time for myself, filling my cup by going out locally exploring old ruins, stone circles and places I found peaceful. I also picked up a paint brush, dragged out an old sewing machine, and generally gave myself permission to find myself.

I'm many years and many lessons away from that darker period of my life, but I've learned that being me is a much more pleasant experience if I'm making things, and so I do. Sometimes it goes to plan, sometimes it does not but often the best ideas pop up when I'm in the middle of making something else and this path has brought me a peace and contentment I never saw coming.

I make a mish mash of things that will keep changing no doubt, but for the moment I mostly sew accessories - bags, hats etc, some clothing, make dream catchers and other wall hangings. Paintings which I use for prints, cards, book marks etc.

I will take some custom orders, but these will always be limited.
