I like to set myself a challenge.

I live on The Isle of Wight. During these last two lockdowns, I decided to focus on my passion and get my clay out, as I found myself having a little bit of extra time on my hands! Each subject I choose to undertake starts out with a detailed drawing to form a template to scale. Once completed it is then placed on a sheet of clay which is cut out to form a base. I meticulously apply layers to the piece until I’m satisfied its right (I am a stickler for detail) I then make a silicone mould from which a plaster cast is made. Once dried (3 days) I can then start to paint, using up to 6 shades of high pigment acrylic paint alongside an ink wash to highlight details. This means each finished piece is very individual.
