Having been brought up on farms - my dad was a cowman - I have always loved the countryside. This is where the inspiration for my artwork stems from.
Before painting tractors I started with traction engines as I loved the challenge of painting the shiny brass rivets and the sheen on the highly polished engine. Thinking there was no such challenge on the tractors, I soon found out differently.
Apart from tractors I paint trees and country scenes in watercolour and acrylic, but recently have introduced textile picture panels painted with ink.
I am in the process of writing a series of children's books. 'Curly sheep's bad hair day' and 'Molly moo the independent cow' are the first two in the series all about the animals that live on Applegate farm.
My textile craft are all designed and hand crafted individually by me. The Dolly purses and hessian bags are an absolute dream for any little girl to keep their treasures in.A dolly bag was purchased by a lady as her lunch bag.
It was Dorset buttons that inspired me to make the heavenly charms. They add a sparkle anywhere.
