I first came across fashion dolls as a child growing up in the 1950's. I was a few years too old to have my own Sindy doll but, with the help of my mother and grandmother, my 16" teenage doll acquired a very extensive wardrobe. As I grew up my attention soon switched to making my own clothes. My school specialised in turning out shorthand typists, nurses and teachers. My typing was slow, I was too squeamish for nursing so ,since school needlework classes were not very inspiring in those days, I became an English teacher.
Several decades later my step mother hit the wrong pedal and crashed her car into the back of the garage. The only casualty was my mothers old 1920's doll which she discovered among the debris. My husband decided to try and repair it and this started a whole new chapter. From repair he went on to sculpting and then on to mould making and firing porcelain. I was responsible for wigs and costumes. We joined the British Doll Association, exhibited in museums and sold at doll and craft fairs. After a while we shrank our dolls to 1/12th scale and switched to dolls house fairs. When working with porcelain became an unpractical option we became involved in Teddy bear designing and making. I was particularly interested in trying to design a teddy bear style cat.
During this time I had also built up a fairly large doll and teddy bear collection. When I retired I decided to sell some online. I noticed that there was a shortage of Sindy original clothes and as an experiment I designed a pattern and offered it for sale. The response being positive I have continued to add to the collection over the last 8 years and now have more than 30 available.

I love Colleen’s Sindy doll patterns. They arrived promptly and are very easy to use. The instructions are straightforward and easy to follow, tips and advice on fabrics.
I couldn’t be more pleased and highly recommend this product.
This item was delivered within a couple of days of my placing the order. It was well packaged and came in a very useful, plastic, resealable wallet. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for someone like myself who has limited sewing skills. Highly recommend.
