I'm primarily an artist working in different materials. Having been a potter making domestic ware for more than 30 years I stopped working with ceramic clay and started making jewellery from silver clay. I have also been making decorative textiles for about 40 years. Additionally, I work with Friendly Plastic, photography and other materials. Increasingly, I am broadening the scope of my work and try to always make things I like that bring a smile to other people's faces.
I'm inspired by many things, but primarily by nature and colour. Increasingly I find ways to use colour in my silver jewellery as well as the colourful plastic earrings and colour is the starting point for all my textiles work. The natural world is also a huge source of inspiration, from animals to landscapes, gardens to insects, I'm drawn to natural forms whether realistic or abstract.
