Teeny Tiny painted woodturn...
Bluebird Designs NI£9.00
I live on the shores of Strangford Lough in County Down, Northern Ireland. I have been creating polymer clay jewellery for ten years and have been wood turning for six years.
I love the colours and versatility of polymer clay, and the different techniques that can be used to create so many different patterns, with real visual impact. I create pendants, bracelets and earrings.
When it comes to wood, I love the grain and patterns that can be found naturally occurring in wood, and bringing that out through turning the wood on a lathe. I aim to use recycled wood wherever possible, and love creating something out of old timber, logs, scrap wood. When turning logs, I like to leave some of the bark as it adds so much more character. I don't discard wood which has split, instead I will make a feature out of the split.
I have experimented with combining polymer clay and wood, using clay as an inlay for wood bowls
I love really small cute things, so I started turning miniature vases which are only a few centimetres in height. As a perfect accompaniment, I decided to use my polymer clay to make flowers for the vases. These vases with flowers are a perfect partnership, and a perfect gift.

Absolutely beautifully crafted keepsake for my daughter who happens to be born on Christmas Day. Tracey did a brilliant job of combining ‘Happy Christmas and Happy Birthday’ on a high quality peace of artwork. Such a talent. Have purchased jewellery with her before and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again
