About Bleau Shanay Hudson

Bleau Shanay Hudson

Inspiring the love of trees and land through creative collage, painting and drawing

Bleau Shanay Hudson is an artist, photographer, poet and nature blogger.

Bleau spent her childhood growing up in the West Sussex countryside where she still lives.

Surrounded by woodlands and trees, Bleau spent most of her time outdoors where her love for nature grew and her imagination created a world in which to escape, believe in and explore. Her mother’s creativity influenced Bleau’s interest in art and this continued to develop throughout her education.

After studying art and photography at college, Bleau started working for the National Trust at Sheffield Park, abundant with ancient trees which cemented her connection with nature, art and conservation.

Woodlands and trees have always captivated Bleau’s imagination and her appreciation for them led her to interpret them within her work. Bleau experiments with different ideas and techniques including mixed media, collage work, textured paintings with acrylics and organic materials gathered from tree bark, leaf litter and mother earth.

Following a big push from her father, since 18 years of age Bleau has exhibited in prestigious establishments including BAFTA in London, National Trust properties, art fairs, festivals and galleries.

Bleau’s work has been featured in magazines including Sussex Living, other publications and films including Woodland Awakening for the Woodland Trust which allowed her to work alongside the BBC Presenter, Vicar of Firle and author Peter Owen Jones and the druid Philip Carr-Gomm.

Her Inspiration.....

Bleau relates to trees because like her, their roots are grounded to mother earth and their branches reach out to the universe.

We need trees, trees are essential to life. They give us protection, they improve our air quality, they are a haven for wildlife and a fantastic space to play in, explore and breathe.

Her work, not surprisingly, is about trees and woodlands and another great inspiration, the moors of Dartmoor where she walks the land regularly connecting with rivers, ancient stone circles, standing stones and wildlife.

But watch this space because Bleau like the trees is ever-changing.

Bleau not only paints but is a keen photographer, poet and blogger too. Visit www.bleauhudson.com to find out more....
