I work in a shared-space with other makers and aim to stretch the ability of the tools and equipment by careful design and manufacture.
Each project starts with the material to see how one can change it to release its inner beauty and make something that discerning users will enjoy. They can be very fragile such as oak earings or they can be very robust like coffee tables made out of fine wood, or somewhere in between. However, in all cases, a great deal of thought has gone into the design and the making process to enhance the quality.
I don't want to fight the wood, I want to release the inner beauty so everyone can see what I'm trying to produce. This does mean that just about every piece has an error that I can see and maybe you can too.
