My name is Becca Hopkinson, I am a designer and maker of handcrafted beautiful wooden boxes, decorative wooden homewares and fun, colourful quality gift items.

I have always been drawn to making and fixing things growing up, with an eye for detail a fascination for function and a love of the making process. I moved to Sheffield to study fine art in 2001 where I spent much of my time around the technicians trying out different materials and methods. I went on to study the craftsmanship of cabinet making and fell in love with making using wood.

In 2008 I decided to set out as a self employed furniture maker and started making under the name of Beba Bespoke.

In 2010 I became a Mum for the first time which brought a scaling down to my work both in size and time available. Knowing I couldn't easily make larger pieces I focused on specialising in box making and wooden jewellery gift items. Becoming a mother also brought in a more colourful playful side to some of my work and reawakened my imagination to dream up new ideas.

I try only to use a variety of ethically sourced solid hardwoods or recycle wood from old furniture. I also source other furniture makers cast offs and waste off-cuts as I find it hard to let even the smallest bit of beautiful wood go in a fire without at least attempting to dream up a use for it. Some of my inspiration for my “off-cut” products has been drawn from simple,fun and colourful Scandi design.I enjoy detail and delightful surprise, taking the time to find a good combination of wood types,textures and colours to add a small detail that gives my boxes and gift items a uniqueness. I aim to create products that are delightful gifts and in many can be treasured for generations.
