About Atlantic Rose

Atlantic Rose

Beautiful handcrafted sterling silver jewellery from the Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland

Hi,

And welcome to Atlantic Rose, handmade sterling silver jewellery from the north coast of Northern Ireland.

This coastline, known to many as the Causeway Coast, is a stretch of some of the most beautiful, rugged scenery in the world. A place steeped in myths and legends with an exciting, colourful history. It’s where I grew up and where I’m lucky enough to be raising my own family.

As an archaeologist for over 10 years, I loved exploring this history and became fascinated by the techniques used by ancient goldsmiths and metalworkers. At first, I started making chainmaille bracelets and Viking Knitting with sterling silver purely for myself. But it wasn’t long before I had a queue of friends and family asking me to make pieces for them, and Atlantic Rose was born.

My design process is very organic. I may start with a semi-precious stone or a bead that catches my eye and the piece of jewellery grows around it. Whichever materials I’m using, I want to make jewellery that makes a statement. You can use it for a bit of sparkle on the school run, a pop at the centre of a party outfit or the perfect surprise gift for someone special.

And the name Atlantic Rose? Well, it reflects two of the biggest influences in my life: the north coast of Northern Ireland by the Atlantic Ocean and my Nan, Rosena Shaw, known to family and friends as Rose. (That’s my Nan's handwriting you see in the Atlantic Rose logo.)
Have a look around my shop to see my most recent pieces. And do please get in touch if you’d like me to work on a bespoke design – I regularly make pieces for weddings and gifts and I love a challenge.
