Full description
This is my celestial angel with a red hand on heart symbol.
Handcrafted with white earthstone hand building clay using the slab and pinch-pot methods. Her gown is sculpted over a cone-shape mould. Her wings are cut out and embossed with a feather design, these are secured by to her body using “slip”. Her head is shaped using the pinch-pot method with her angelic hair added using sculpting tools. A stippled design enhances her gown together with heart detail symbolising heart coherence, to balance the heart with the mind.
After the initial bisque firing to 1000c, she has been gently sanded to refine the finish before applying underglaze glaze to the heart-shaped detail, butterfly and flower. Three coats of clear glaze have been applied by brush before firing to a temperature of 1180c.
