I specialise in sourcing Vintage Kimono and Obi Silks from Japan and carefully creating very Limited Edition Collections of Cushions in my London Studio.
I can wait months to find the right silks for each season and this is a perfect example for A/W15.
This fine Japanese Obi silk is in good condition dating from the 80's.
It is a rich orange with large scale gold metallic leaves woven within it. It reflects beautifully in the light and looks sumptuous and rich. The reverse is orange silk from the same rare obi belt.
The amazing detail of threads on the inside means I have to fully line it to protect them and make the cushion more robust.
It includes a hidden zip on the side and fat feather pad made in the UK.
I just love finding these stunning silks and giving them new life in our homes today.
A perfect item to refresh any sofa, bed or chair.

It is so satisfying finding new ways to use this Vintage Japanese silk and bring it out of a dark cupboard and back into our homes...
