I have been involved with Red Squirrel conservation since 2007, and I originally sculpted this in copper for the Red Squirrel Survival Trust Volunteer of the year awards 2012, which were presented in Alnwick Castle. I am primarily an animal sculptor, so the two go together quite well!

This British wildlife sculpture shows a life size Red squirrel; 'Hope', peeping out from a hole in a Pine tree and is designed as a wall mounted sculpture for inside. The original for this wall art piece was sculpted in wax and moulded, then each one of the limited edition is cast in resin and hand painted.
I first designed 'Hope' as the award for the RSST 2012 volunteer of the year awards which were presented in Alnwick Castle. The eight awards which were presented were made in copper. To keep them unique and special for the award recipients, I now only produce this as a painted version, and it is a limited edition of 150 pieces.
'Hope' is sculpted in deep relief, hand-painted and numbered, and it has a saw-tooth hanger on the reverse. A certificate of authenticity comes with each piece.
It measures approximately 9.5" (24cm ) from top to bottom. A percentage of the profits from each sale of Hope (and my other squirrel sculptures) goes to Red Squirrel conservation projects throughout the UK with more than £1,700 being raised and distributed so far!
Approximately 3/4 of the edition has already been sold (December 2017)
