This collection was inspired by the heavy decay of items. I really wanted to push the metal to it's limit with the texturing and the distress but still ensure that it was a wearable item. I decided eventually against using a patina on this range but instead decided to leave the metal white and then to burnish back the textured area's to give a sense of movement to the piece.
My source inspiration was ancient objects found in the sea. I loved the way that when they were recovered they looked utterly ravaged. I liked the way that the water ran off the item when it was being lifted. I think that the texturing combined with the burnishing really helps to recreate that effect.
