Full description
This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.
A rather special piece. I have made a lovely duck, a Mallard almost certainly, and placed him in a bed of reeds.
I have used some gorgeous glass for this piece. Iridescent turquoise for the duck's back with a rippled texture to look like feathers. The head is cut from iridescent deep purple glass. I've even managed to find some steaky black and white for the tail.
The duck is sitting on a pool of blue water streaked with green and is hiding in the green reeds on either side of the pool. It looks absolutely lovely hanging in the window and catching the light which makes it colours shimmer.
This would make a really special present.
The duck hangs by a liltle silvery chain from a little ring which is securely soldered to the duck’s back.
I also make another similar duck without the reeds but this one is considerably bigger at 20cm wide and 18 cm high. I have named him Mega Duck so i can differentiate.
This item is absolutely unique. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and/or textures of glass.
