Full description
This unusual little bowl has some beautiful naturally coloured woods that compliment each other so well. It is made from off-cuts of kiln dried Oak, Beech, Walnut, Purpleheart Wood and Maple that I had been using to make other things.
Each segment is re-sawn to size, planed and sanded before the block is glued together and cut into a cylindrical blank, ready for turning. After the wood has been turned it is sanded perfectly smooth and the bowl was given multiple coats of finishing oil.
This would make an ideal gift and could be used to hold small jewellery pieces or keep sakes but it looks wonderful, simply on its own as a unique display piece.
