The Church will buzz with excitement as the pews begin to fill
Proud family and friends will look on as you both accept God’s Will
This special day will be remembered, your beautiful gowns will be kept
There’ll be smiles throughout the service, and no doubt the odd tear wept

You’ll be accepted into God’s Family, whilst cradled in your parents’ arms
Together with your Godparents, they’ll promise to keep you safe from harm
They’ll promise to love you, take care of you, and teach you wrong from right
As your gentle innocent faces glow in your candles' flickering light

The Church will be their witness as they make their solemn vows
All will hold their breath as the cross is marked upon your brows
The hymns will be sung with such enthusiasm, the Church filled with one voice
As the vicar declares you are God’s Children, your loved ones will rejoice

When the ceremony is over, and the party is in full swing
You’ll be the centre of attention and showered in the gifts guests bring
And someone who loves you both very much will have brought this poem for you
To show you just how much they care, and will your whole lives through
